January Member of the Month Spotlight – Tommy Kimmerle

I am so excited to announce that the January Member of the Month is Tommy Kimmerle!

 

Tommy has been with Forever Fit SCV for over 3 years and has been a force to be reckoned with ever since!  He keeps us all on our toes with his witty humor and continues to get stronger every time he walks through the door.

 

A former athlete, Tommy is no stranger to hard work.  And though his baseball days are over, he still shines playing softball and is now hitting even more home runs throwing more people out thanks to his new found strength! He’s even found that coming to the gym to train before a game helps him play better and have more power.

Tommy’s got a wit and charm that always puts everyone at ease.  He’s always willing to lend a hand when needed and give some an extra push to help them get through a workout.  And we even have a special bond because we both ‘speak fluent movie quotes’!

 

We are so proud of what Tommy continues to accomplish and can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!

We were able to able to catch up with him to find out how and why he’s been so successful and here’s what he had to say:

Craig: When did you start training at Forever Fit SCV?

Tommy: I started out at a bring-a-friend workout a few years ago and learned quickly what an awesome environment Forever Fit SCV was to work out in.  I’ve been hooked ever since.

 

Craig: What has made you so successful at Forever Fit SCV?

Tommy: Craig! Duh…well, mostly Craig.  He pushes me to be at my best.  Always willing to hand me extra weight or another band, or getting me to try new variations and exercises.  The atmosphere also contributes to success.  Having such great people to work out with, including my wonderful wife, really makes a difference and makes working out far more fun.

Craig: What is the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome during your fitness transformation?

Tommy: Definitely forcing myself to eat better. I still treat myself from time to time, but my most prominent cut was to fried foods (especially french fries).  It’s so sad because they’re SO delicious.  But cutting down on them really made a difference.

 

Craig: What advice would you offer to others who are just starting out on their fitness journey or have hit a road-block?

Tommy: Hit the ground running.  Force yourself to get into it (or back into it), because that’s the hardest part.  But once you’re in and it becomes part of your routine, it becomes easier to keep it going.  And trust Craig, he always knows what’s best.

 

Craig: What drives you to ‘KEEP MAKIN’ CHANGES’?

Tommy: Seeing results.  Once you see that your hard work is paying off it motivates you to keep it going.  And Craig always says to KEEP MAKIN’ CHANGES.  And like I said, Craig knows best!
