October Member of the Month Spotlight – André Kavanagh

I am so excited to announce that the October Member of the Month is André Kavanagh!

 

André has been with Forever Fit SCV for over 2 years now and has been crushing it ever since!

 

André’s wild and bubbly personality is infectious as she runs around pumping everyone up during training sessions!  She is super supportive of everyone around her and makes everyone instantly feel like they’re a part of the Forever Fit SCV Family.  Having a bad day?  No worries, André will be there to pick you up and make you smile.  I’ve had the pleasure of spending some time with her away from the gym and I can honestly say that she is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.

No matter what, she’s always smiling!

Whether she’s strength training in the gym or training for a half marathon, so is always focused on the task at hand and doesn’t give up. After talking to her parents (yeah, they train at Forever Fit SCV too!), I’ve learned she’s always been a fiercely determined person and it shows each and every day.

 

I was able to catch up with André to find out why she’s been so successful and here’s what she had to say:

Craig: Why did you start training at Forever Fit SCV?

André: Brenda Tiemann invited me to do the Back to School Transformation Challenge two years ago. I was only going to the gym here and there and I was looking for something more motivating. I had tried yoga, running wasn’t helping to shed the extra few pounds and I never knew what the heck I was doing with the weight machines. So I figured, why not give Forever Fit a try. And I LOVED it! A week later I cancelled my membership at LA fitness and signed up for classes at Forever Fit.

Craig: What has made you so successful at Forever Fit SCV?

André: The support and family like atmosphere. Craig is always available, even if I text him late at night! He’s so great and so supportive, even when I’m whining and complaining. Anytime I’ve had an injury, Craig has always modified exercises for me! It’s the perfect small gym with a personal training like atmosphere that keeps me motivated!

 

Craig: What is the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome during your fitness transformation?

André: Committing the time to come during the week, even when I’m exhausted. Couch or gym? Everyday…the struggle is real.

 

Craig: What advice would you offer to others who are just starting out on their fitness journey or have hit a road-block?

André: Keep at it. Everyone goes through ups and downs, especially when you first start out. Rely on your coaches and the support of the other members. It truly is like a big family. We are all here to help and provide support!

 

Craig: What drives you to ‘KEEP MAKIN’ CHANGES’?

André: I’m doing it for the long term, for my health and definitely for my sanity. Working out and eating healthy is key for anyone as they get older. So, I want to start making those changes now. And I gotta make sure I always have that beach body ready to go! SUN’S OUT GUNS OUT!!!
